Hopeful, Inspiring, Truth

We are a month or so into a nationwide lockdown where simple common sense had to stripped away and our freedom of movement constrained because of the ill discipline of the few, and the common good of all.

For many of us questions still need to be answered, from where did this all start and why? to what will our futures look like in the wake of it all?

There unfortunately are very few answers, but we can be sure of one thing.

There is a God on a throne who cares for you and knows the details of your heart.

So many of us are suffering. Anxiety, depression, loneliness to name a few, so as a church, the people of God, followers of Jesus, we need to be thinking about, praying for and acting in compassion so that we can be a blessing and a bearer of hope and good news. As we move through this crisis we need to be a voice of positivity, there is so much death and doom surrounding us. People are dying horrifically, relationships are strained to breaking points, domestic violence is rising and financial uncertainty is ruining mental health.

As a positive voice we can offer a light in the darkness, and be hands and feet of relief to those we neighbour, and reach out digitally to those we cannot meet.

We at the Hub church believe God is going to do a new thing.

Isaiah prophesied this word for the nation of Israel nearly 3000 years ago concerning the coming messiah, however I believe this is a word for us today, not just as a church but for the world.

Isaiah 43:19

See, I am doing a new thing!

Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

I am making a way in the wilderness

and streams in the wasteland.

It is hopeful. It is inspiring. And it is God's word of truth. He is a God of a never changing nature, a God of creative power beyond our reckoning. He is able.

We should have faith that He will, where man may fail, He is victorious.

After all in his letter to the Romans Paul wrote:

Romans 8:28

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

This is no surprise to God. He didn't create coronavirus but He can pull good from it.

So let us partner together with our heavenly Father that we might bring about positive change in the future for all of us.
