Blessed are the Peacemakers

Jesus came to bring peace and break down everything that divides us from the Father and each other.

Jesus the supreme peacemaker

Ephesians 2:13-16 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have become near by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, he who made both one and broke down the dividing wall of enmity, through his flesh, 15 abolishing the law with its commandments and legal claims, that he might create in himself one new person in place of the two, thus establishing peace, 16 and might reconcile both with God, in one body, through the cross, putting that enmity to death by it.

As a Christian community, we seek to follow Christ’s example in every way.

To be a peacemaker, does not mean keeping silent when you see improper behaviour or relationship breakdown. Rather you are the one who, following scriptural teaching, is willing to shine his light on the situation; Not to condemn or put anyone down, but to work to correct, reconcile and restore, bringing back the peace of God.

Peacemakers courageously get involved no matter what the cost is to themselves, in order to establish the Kingdom of God on earth and bring peace where possible. That is, they are willing to get lovingly involved, to resolve the conflict. In this process, we always must remember that our fight is not against people but spiritual forces that seek to destroy peace and divide people. (Ephesians 6:12).

Peacemakers have their eyes set on providing solutions to situations where peace has been damaged.

In this process you may be accused of being unloving, judgemental, or intolerant, but keep doing God’s work of reconciliation and bringing peace where you can because the fruit is wonderful and immensely fulfilling.

Follow this scripture;

Hebrew 12:14-15

14 Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. 15 See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.
